Q. How long will I need to stay in therapy?
A. This varies from person to person. Some folks only need a few sessions, while others enjoy weekly sessions long-term. My approach is to collaborate with you to determine how long therapy lasts. If I feel there is more work to be done, I will let you know that is my recommendation. However, you are never obligated to keep going to therapy if that is not your wish.

Q. Will my insurance pay for Counseling?
A. Currently, I’m not on any insurance panels, thus payment is due at time of service. However, it’s important to check with your insurance company to see if they provide any reimbursement for “out of network” providers. As this is an out-of-pocket expense, I keep my fees competitively low and I can accept credit card, check or cash. Please call 404.556.6662 for more information about fees.

Q. Can you diagnose me and/or prescribe medications?
A. I do not prescribe medications. Medications can be prescribed by a medical doctor. Alternatively, I work with my clients to better understand their symptoms and help route them to the appropriate physician if needed.

Q. Do you work with children?
A. I work with teenagers ages 15 and up. I provide talk therapy, so it’s important that young clients are able to engage verbally as a means of exploration and problem-solving.

Q. Should we come to couples therapy even if we are considering divorce?
A. Absolutely. My goal for couples therapy is to see couples reunify and strengthen their bond and relationship...to take divorce off the table! However, this is not always the outcome. When couples are considering separation and divorce, it’s important that they work through this in a safe way that can often be achieved together.

Q. Can you provide therapy for several members of the family?
A. I believe therapy is more effective when one person or the “couple” is the client. For this reason, I don’t practice couples therapy as well as individual therapy with one or both spouses. The exception to this is family counseling when several or all members are present for most of the sessions.
